November 20 is the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout. This is a perfect time to think about quitting smoking. There are various ways to help you quit, including health coaching, medications, and other resources. Our health coaching partner, TrestleTree offers smoking cessation support at no cost. Contact TrestleTree at 866-523-8185. Our prescription benefit manager, Optum, offers medications that support quitting. See the attached flyer or contact Optum at 855-241-2213. The American Cancer Society has a free resource “Empowered to Quit”, which is an email-based program to help you quit smoking. For more information see Tobacco Cessation Program | American Cancer Society. Keep trying. Even if you have attempted smoking cessation in the past, try again. According to the Centers for Disease Control Great American Smokeout: Make Today Your Quit Day! | Smoking and Tobacco Use | CDC, more than half of adults who have smoked have quit and you can too. More information on resources both through the Health & Welfare Plan and outside organizations is on the following flyer: Prepare to Quit.
