988 Lifeline responds 24/7 to calls, chats or texts from anyone who needs support. There are many reasons that people connect with the 988 Lifeline, including suicide, problems with drug or alcohol use, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, mental illness, loneliness, trauma, bullying, stress, relationship troubles, and just needing someone to talk with.

For Maine Residents
If you or someone you know is having a mental health crisis, know that you are not alone. You can reach out to 988 if you are experiencing emotional distress, struggling with your mental health for any reason, or just need someone to talk to. 988 calls from Maine are answered in Maine, so you will talk to someone who can help you get the support you need close to home.
For Massachusetts Residents
The Massachusetts Behavioral Health Help Line is available for calls, texts or chat at 833-773-2445 24/7. Connect with qualified professionals for mental health assessments, crisis services, substance use treatment, referrals and more, with options in your own community. Staff will remain on the line with you until you are connected to your next step.
Every call, text, or chat conversation includes clinical follow up to ensure your needs are met.
For New Hampshire Residents
The New Hampshire Rapid Response Access Point is available 24/7, 365 days a year at 833-710-6477. You can call, text, or chat with crisis operators. The NHRRAP is prepared to respond immediately and is staffed with specialty trained crisis operators, licensed clinicians and peers who really listen to what individuals are going through. If needed, a mobile crisis team (MCT) from a community mental health center (CMHC) can come meet you right where you are or a crisis center may be able to support you or a same-day/next-day appointment can be made at a CMHC.
